About the Artist
My name is Tricia Bruns. I have been creating jewelry since 2003. I started out making things for myself and my not-yet-born daughter because I LOVE JEWELRY! Shortly after, I became a stay-at-home Mom and was looking for a creative outlet. Eventually, I started making a few pieces here and there for friends and family. It took some time and plenty of experimentation with materials, but I finally figured out that niche was metals!
After much encouragement from family and friends, I decided to make jewelry to sell circa 2011 and I have been in LOVE with the craft ever since!
Inspiration for my designs come from the world around me. I am enamored with rich colors, textures and natural stones... I love seeing God's handiwork shine straight from the earth. Nature inspires me!
The Proverbs 31 woman also inspires me. She "selects wool and flax and works with her hands", "she sets about her work vigorously" & "sees that her trading is profitable".
Moss & Magnolia was a carefully chosen name. My Granny Broussard was the person that instilled the creative side of me from the very beginning. She was always creating SOMETHING - and I was right there. She loved Southern Magnolias (she had a huge one in her yard that I loved to climb as a child). When she passed away in 2005, and I wanted to honor her importance in my life. Inspired by my memories of playing in her magnolia tree and the beauty in southern Louisiana moss... the name Moss & Magnolia was born!
